How history repeats itself… The same agonizing pain fills my heart with the recent slaying of Terence Cruther. I read this in wake of the Sterling shooting and was blown back of how exceptional you wrote about it. I had to revisit it and share it to all of my social media outlets.
Joy, I’ve been missing you and hope everything is okay. I also thought of you for the Poets for Peace campaign (see: forgottenmeadows), if you’d care to add to it.
I am incredibly touched & undeserving of your concern, I am well! I hope life is faring well on your end. Thank you for caring 🙂 I’m working on a couple of pieces, I hope to be sharing rather soon. I’ll definitely check out the poets for peace campaign, thank you for bringing it to my attention!

I had to share this piece. In the wake of the Alton Sterling shooting and investigation launched by the Department of Justice, we must not forget the pain felt by so many people of color. Presently I’m still in shock, but hopeful that justice will be served.
Thank you for the reblog. I know many, including myself are grieving. For the two men killed from police brutality to all POC and religions. I wish you peace.
You’re so sweet. All I can do is say, “I’m sorry”. It’s really important to hear your perspective — it’s the only way to learn. So, what you’re doing is really important. It may reach only a few, at present, but you’re still reaching more than it was, before. And then it will grow and reach more. I hope you’ll compile a book of your poetry, someday. Joy, sometimes it requires more than writing to affect change; it requires activism. I’m just speaking through experience.
Thank you for your encouragement. I must say, you are the sweet one here. Perhaps I will be able to incite change, whether it be through poetry or full fledge activism! Your wisdom is always appreciated
